Friday 17th February is Random Acts of Kindness day.
As well as banking some major karma points (although that should never be the main motivation) committing random acts of kindness has benefits for all involved.
Onlookers receive a boost of oxytocin natures love hormone which makes us feel good, increases wellbeing, self esteem and also lowers blood pressure helping to protect our hearts.
People who volunteer to work for others benefit without pay seem to receive payback in that their overall physical health. Experiencing less aches and pains and nearly twice as likely to live to old age than non-volunteers.
Kindness naturally stimulates the production of serotonin natures happy hormone, endorphins a natural painkiller and decreases the production of cortisol the stress hormone.
So do yourself and the world a favour and spread the kindness this random acts of kindness day.
