Hypnosis

how does hypnosis workI am often asked, how does hypnotherapy work? Hypnosis is a deeply relaxed state with physiological attributes resembling sleep and marked by an individual’s level of awareness other than ordinary consciousness. A person under Hypnosis is said to have heightened focus and concentration with the ability to concentrate intensely on a specific thought or memory even while blocking out sources of distraction. You can make hypnotherapy work for you by opening your mind to positive suggestions and eliminating or greatly reducing negative thoughts, feelings and programming. Hypnosis is great anybody who would like a fairly passive, introspective and relaxing therapy.

Psychotherapy

…is therapeutic interaction or treatment between a trained Therapist and a client, patient, family, couple or group. During Psychotherapy one hopes to learn about their condition and moods, feelings, thoughts and behaviours, how to take control of one’s life and respond to challenging situations with healthy coping skills. Treatment at Halcyon Hypnotherapy Sheffield can be used safely to treat almost any condition in children and adults alike. Teenagers, children and anyone who feels like they want to tackle any issues head on,  respond especially well to this type of therapy as it is more dynamic and interactive.

Brain Working Recursive Therapy

watch our video here

This is a fairly new and revolutionary therapy which uses a scientifically backed protocol to literally reroute the neural pathways within the brain. Where a negative response is present (such as a phobia) this is because the neural pathway between the trigger (whatever the phobia may be) and the phobic response. By rerouting the neural pathway towards a new more positive response (e.g. remaining calm) the old neural pathway is broken down leaving only the new desired response. This type of therapy is very specific and can target strongly negative response within a matter of minutes.
