Mental Health services which treat everyone like identical cattle, to be herded through some generic treatment and left with no further support at the other end..... cannot possibly have a vested interest in successful outcomes.

You are being bombarded by suggestion constantly. By media and advertising but also by every person you meet whether it is intentional or not.
Its quite IMPOSSIBLE avoid exposure to suggestion or to avoid suggesting things about ourselves to others simply by the way we dress, move, talk etc
How much other others influence we talk onboard as our own and how aware we are that its even happening, depends on our level of SUGGESTIBILITY at that time.
If it just happens to be the case that you are naturally super susceptible to suggestion, then at least I'm being paid to deliver POSITIVE suggestions for the whole session.
